The free-range poultry management program under the SARP Project continues to show strong results across the districts of Anuradhapura, Puttalam, Kurunegala, Mannar, and Vavuniya, as well as in Yatawatta.
The initiative, which mainly supports unemployed housewives, helps families meet their household protein needs while also creating a valuable additional source of income for women. Beneficiaries join the program with enthusiasm, receiving both training and material support, while their progress is regularly followed up by the SARP project team.
As part of these efforts, material assistance was recently distributed on July 31 to selected beneficiaries in the villages of Maha Ehetuwewa, Sandamaleliya, Galpothtewa, and Aluthgama in the Anuradhapura district.
This continuous distribution ensures that more families are empowered with the resources and knowledge to successfully manage poultry, improving both nutrition and livelihoods in rural communities.
