SARP is strengthening the financial capabilities of smallholder farmers through a series of financial literacy programmes designed to help them manage their income, expenditure, savings and business decisions more effectively.
The programmes aim to equip farmers with the knowledge and confidence to manage their farming activities as viable businesses, make informed financial decisions and strengthen their long-term economic resilience.
As part of this effort, SARP is also facilitating access to suitable financial services for selected farmers based on their business and investment needs. Partnerships have been established with HNB and SDB, while discussions are underway with other financial institutions to expand access to financial facilities.
Farmers are also provided with a practical income and expenditure record book to help them track their daily finances, develop better saving habits and gain a clearer understanding of their business performance.
Through these initiatives, SARP aims to move beyond supporting farmers as project beneficiaries and help them build the financial knowledge, management skills and resilience needed to develop sustainable agricultural enterprises and stronger livelihoods.
