With rising food prices and the ongoing challenge of preparing nutritious meals—particularly for children—many families face difficulties in maintaining a healthy diet. In response, the Sustainable Agriculture and Rural Prosperity (SARP) initiative launched a nutrition-focused One Dish Meal training program aimed at reducing malnutrition among vulnerable groups, including infants, pregnant mothers, schoolchildren, and newlywed couples.

This program equips participants with practical knowledge on preparing affordable, balanced meals using locally available ingredients. By promoting simple, nutritious meal preparation techniques, the initiative supports families in adopting healthier dietary habits.

The One Dish Meal program remains a vital component of SARP’s broader mission to enhance food security and improve community health across Sri Lanka, ensuring that even amidst economic challenges, families are empowered to nourish themselves effectively.
