One of the major initiatives under the SARP Project is the rehabilitation of 260 small-scale tanks, scheduled for completion by 2027. This effort plays a vital role in ensuring reliable water resources for agriculture in drought-prone dry zones, supporting both farming activities and rural livelihoods.
Rehabilitation work has already been successfully completed on a number of tanks across project districts, while construction and restoration activities continue on many others. These efforts involve not only significant investment in funding and labor but also the active participation of local communities, whose contributions greatly enhance the success of the project.
By restoring these tanks, the project is helping to secure water availability, boost agricultural productivity, and build resilience among farming families in vulnerable areas.
